The Change

We Need.
The Future

They Deserve.

Our existing Amboy School District Jr. High facility has served us well for nearly 100 years, but the current building no longer meets the code requirements or the educational needs of today and tomorrow's students—our future leaders.  As our community has grown and education has evolved, our classrooms are no longer able to meet the academic needs of our students.  In 2017, Amboy School District began looking at the facility improvements that would not only fulfill the educational obligation to students, but also improve the long-term viability of the District.  The 272 KIDS Committee was formed to investigate the situation and options available to the District.  Analysis and review of the existing classroom facilities revealed that it would not be cost-effective to renovate, due to the age and condition of the structure.  The 272 KIDS Committee recommended to the Board that a new, fully-divided facility be constructed to replace the Jr. High and update the High School.

On November 6, there will be an election requesting that the voters approve a $15.8 Million General Obligation Bond to build a new Jr. High and improve the current High School.  The improvements will include an addition to serve as the Jr. High, which will be distinct and separate from the High School.  An addition to the High School will include a new entrance, gymnasium, and media center.  Approval of the measure will result in the necessary learning environments to better equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to be competitive in today's educational system and beyond graduation.

The future of our schools depends on you and the community.
